The Unofficial Plantation Date : Tuesday 7th May Duration : ½ day (4.5 hours) Format : bus trip; guided tour You’ll get : a good understanding of the MacDonnell Plantation and its legacy (including links to Ballysally). You’ll start understand the relationship (and differences) between the MacDonnell Plantation and the Coleraine Plantation. |

The Official Plantation : Coleraine Date : Tuesday 28th May Duration : ½ day (4.5hours) Format : bus trip; guided tour You’ll get : a good understanding of the Coleraine Plantation as far as the town itself is concerned. With a chance to visit sites of historical interest which give a “before and after” sense of the impact of plantation , you will also gain an understanding of the divisions within community and a feel for the impact of apportioned “lots”. |

The Honourable, The Irish Society Date : Tuesday 4th June Duration : 3 hours Format : bus trip; presentation and tour of Cutts House You’ll get: a good understanding of how the Society was formed, why it was formed, its purpose during (and after ) the Plantation, how it operated then and its legacy (and how it operates) today. In addition, you will have a good feel for the 12 Livery Companies (their roots and why they came into being) and their role (past and present) – along with their legacy today in the “County of Coleraine”. A broad understanding of the City of London / The Corporation (its relationship with parliament and the Crown) and its evolving nature over time might just be on the cards too!
Linenhall Library, Belfast Date : Tuesday 11th June Duration : 7 hours Format : guided tour and supported research (looking at interesting materials for our project/book) The Livery Companies Beyond The Town Of Coleraine Date : Tuesday 18th June Duration : 1 day (8.5 hours) Format : bus trip; guided tour You’ll get : a good understanding of the location, impact and legacy of some of the key Livery Companies in the wider area. |

Quiz Evening : Question Time Date : Thursday 20th June Duration : 2 hours Format : “expert panel” invited to take questions from YOU! This evening is really “ everything you wanted to know about the Coleraine Plantation but were afraid to ask about… until NOW!)” You’ll get: the opportunity to get questions of interest answered. By this stage, you’ll also be getting a really good feel of which parts of the Plantation Story interest you the most With the “Plantation Basics” under your belt, you’ll be ready to think about our book in more detail – and some of you will be ready to go to London!
London Trip ~ keep an eye on our main London page here https://1613andallthat.wordpress.com/london/ For 6 project members, there will be the opportunity to go to London for 3 days. Date : 25th-27th June (2 nights) Duration : 3 days Format : range of guided tours, lecture and Q&A sessions. Itinerary to be confirmed. Provisional itinerary : viewing of Coleraine Charter, tour of Guildhall, visit to Lord Mayor’s mansion, visit to the Clothworker’s Livery Hall, attendance at a special evening lecture about the Plantation.
